Directed By: John Carpenter
Directing – 9
John Carpenter directs this film nicely. The suspense level fits perfectly, and it works well. I feel that some of the character decisions are a little off. That’s it, as for directing flaws.
Cinematography – 10
I think the cinematography is great. It adds to the anticipation.
Score – 10
The score is classic. It has the same sounds, yet it works, and it is incredibly effective.
Story – 8
The story is about Michael Myers as he breaks out of prison and goes back to Haddonfield with hopes of finding more victims. I think the film is written well, with some flaws ( The character’s decisions throughout). I think what makes the film work is that it’s a bit of a slow-paced film. It takes its time to get each kill, etc.
Acting – 7
Acting is very hit or miss in this film. Most of the cast was very meh. Donald Pleasant and Jaime Lee Curtis were the standouts.
Post-Production – 7
It’s hard to blame the production at times. But it does have problems a few times the editing, mixing, etc.
Entertainment – 9
Other than some of the character decisions. This movie still works. Regardless, this movie could not be released today.
Final Rating
9.2/10 – Classic Slasher Film.
