Directed By: Kaye Herron
Directing – 8
The direction for this series was pretty good. At first, I was a little hesitant because the show didn’t enthrall me, at first. At the end of episode 2, I was then invested in where the story was going to go next and it didn’t disappoint. Besides the first episode, I was pretty on board with the show and where it was headed next.
Cinematography – 10
The cinematography for the show was great overall. The lighting for the scenes was great, even some of the camera movement was a little unorthodox.
Story – 8
The story follows 2012 Loki as he picks up the tesseract and goes off in his own little adventure and is then caught by the TVA who then asks him for his help looking for an outlawed Variant on the loose. I like how this series decided to explore uncharted territory and broke the barriers a little bit. Marvel is trying to explore and tell as many stories as humanly possible and they did a nice job with this series. I rather not get into any spoilers, but I will say that this series is the start of the next big phase for Marvel.
Acting – 8
The acting at first by many of the side characters did bug me. As the series went on most of the supporting actors got better. Tom Hiddleston and Owen Wilson were great. Sophia Di Martino was also great. A couple of actors later on in the series who made appearances were great. Besides the supporting cast in the series early on, everyone did a pretty good job.
Post-Production – 9
A few times it was clear to tell that it was CGI. But it never ruined the show as a whole. The editing and the effects were overall pretty good.
Entertainment – 8
After the end of the second episode. I was on board with the show. It got better as the series went along. I was pretty satisfied with the overall outcome.
Final Rating
8.8/10 – Best MCU series, by far!
