Directed By: Olivia Wilde
Directing – 8
Olivia Wilde’s first time as director she did a pretty good job, there are some moments that are a little rushed and some decisions that could’ve been a little bit different. But for the most part she does a great job with her direction of this film.
Cinematography – 10
The cinematography is great, it captures this coming of age tail and really helps tell the story.
Score – 10
The score is really good, it can be place at strange times, but I believe I can let it slide.
Story – 8
The story is pretty good. It follows a couple of soon to be graduates and their journey to have a night of fun before graduation the next day. The film does have some coming of age tropes, but it works. My negatives is that some things happen that may not normally happen and that something essentially just need to happen for the story. The story itself is really good.
Acting – 10
The acting is really good, everyone definitely captures the feeling of high school, friendship, etc.
Post-Production – 10
For post a lot of choices are really good, and the editing does a good job and the music choices are very nice. There could be slight negatives, but I’ll also let slide.
Entertainment – 10
From an entertainment value it’s really good, it is funny, satisfying, entertaining, and does have some deep and heartfelt moments. The film isn’t just full on comedy, it does get dramatic when it needs to. It in a way is about a friendship and how their friendship is tested by this night of wanting to go party. It can have some moments where you will be like, “Hmm..I’m not sure if that worked.” But with the more viewings the better it may or may not get. Overall, really good coming of age film.
Final Rating
9.2/10 – Really Good Film!
