Directed By: Aaron Sorkin

Directing – 10

Sorkin’s direction is amazing. The pacing is just perfect and every scene is extremely well done whether it’s supposed to be dramatic or comedic. There are a few minor nitpick with the direction, but I believe one can look past that.

Cinematography – 10

The cinematography is incredible the framing and lighting is perfect for every scene.

Score – 10

The score works extremely well for the scenes its used for.

Story – 10

The story is near flawless, there’s not many flaws within it. It tells a story of a group put on trial for whether they started up a riot against the police. To see them have to reach the tops, and even have some extreme falls is both sometimes great and tough to watch. The decision on trial feels very much set and stone. It’s remarkable to see what is put in front of them, and they still pledge to fight for what they believe in. Also, Sorkin’s dialogue is just astounding, there’s not one piece of his dialogue where I said that was bad dialogue. It’s both comedic and dramatic when it needs to be. One moment the characters are arguing while trying to be condescending over the other, and another they are proving a point that may come with a slight joke. His words are just back and forth verbal strikes to prove why they believe they are correct, and it’s so freaking amazing.

Acting – 10

Everyone acts incredible in this film, the performances are outstanding, doesn’t matter who I mention. Everyone does extremely well. Whether it be Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Eddie Redmayne, Sacha Barron Cohen, Mark Rylance, etc. Even Frank Langella who plays a judge who is this awful and vile human being.

Post-Production – 10

Post-Production is extremely well the editing works in amazing fashion, and it helps especially with the court room scenes while some people are testifying. Even the beginning the main characters are explain their goals and it cuts off before they give their last statement and in to another character and they say some really obscure continuation of the sentence even though that wasn’t what the previous characters stated in a way to leave it ambiguous and in a ways comedic. But most of us should be able to put the pieces of the puzzle together

Entertainment – 10

From an entertainment value, it’s near flawless. There’s wasn’t a scene where I can say, “I was bored.” Also, the pacing flows tremendously. Each scene tells the story perfectly and you truly feel for the characters at the end of the day and you stand by the ones that are on trial, and you should absolutely hate the judge by the first scene. And also some people throughout the film are either good or bad people that shows that not everyone is a good person in the United States. There are some great amazing human beings, and there are some that extremely vile and horrendous characters. This film is near flawless.

Final Rating

10/10 – Near Flawless Film
