Directed By: Steven Soderbergh

Directing – 5

The direction with this film at times makes the film hard to follow. The pacing is all over the place, and it tries to be many genres bladed together such as: A race against time triller, drama, heist movie, and sitcom all at once. It doesn’t always work at times. The film is all over the place, and some things in the film just don’t always work.

Cinematography – 7

The cinematography is not bad, but a few times they try to use some shaky or hand held cam and that also is a director’s choice and it doesn’t really work, it can be noticeable and the shaky cam is in some dialogue scenes, which is very strange to me, it makes sense in action scenes, but it isn’t any. Also, it’s nothing flashy, the cinematography does work at times, but occasionally they attempt to make the film switch genres, and it can be weird especially with the camera choices that are made. It’s fine to look at, but the genre switching and the noticeable hand held cam for some scenes can be a little distracting.

Score – 7

Honestly, I don’t remember the score, because the film overall was just all over there place I was trying to follow the story.

Acting – 8

The acting was fine. I don’t believe the film has any bad performances, but the script is all over the place, so you kind of have to roll with what the characters say and do and that doesn’t always work.

Post-Production – 5

The editing for the first film was amazing, this film however, it isn’t terrible, but in a way the film itself goes all over the place, so I don’t the editing was in a way a shine either.

Entertainment – 6

Overall this film at times can be watchable because of the stars on screen. But the film itself just frustrating and attempts to go in many directions and it doesn’t execute it well, so it kind of makes it difficult to follow.

Final Rating

6/10 – Okay at times, but definitely disappointing.
